Everyone wants a clear, even, and healthy skin, but what everyone don’t know is how to nourish the skin to be clear, even, and healthy. Getting a healthy skin might be hard but it is very possible. The skin can be healed, nourished, and prevented from toxins, so it can look its best.

Practicing these five tips will give you the glowing skin you have ever desired:

1.       Eating a Varied Balanced Diet

The first step to take to nourish your skin is eat a variety of balanced diet to acquire all the nutrients your skin require. There are some vitamins and minerals that play a major function in the health of our skin, and they are vitamins are Vitamin A, B Vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc and Selenium. The nourishment of your skin starts from your meal consumption. Examples of food that improve the health of skin include fruits like tomato, lemon, watermelon, pineapple, mango, apple, kiwi, strawberry, pawpaw, peach, grapes, oranges, vegetables like cucumber, cabbage, spinach, lettuce, meat, legumes, seeds, wholegrains, dairy products and seafoods.

2.       Staying Hydrated

Drinking at least about 3 liters of water daily cannot be overemphasized especially for the people that lives in the tropics. Water helps to hydrate your skin, thereby gives the skin a supple look. One of the ways to know if you are drinking enough water is when your pee is almost clear pale yellow. Another advantage of drinking a lot of water is it helps to get rid of toxins and thereby also giving your skin a refreshed appearance.

3.       Beauty Sleep

One of the biggest beauty essential is getting a good and full night sleep.  Ideally, our bodies need at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night to rejuvenate, refresh, repair and restore itself. The body produces collagen when we sleep which helps to promote skin health and our bone structure (skeletal system). The disadvantage of not getting enough sleep is that it causes our skin to stress out, sag and swell. Trust, you don’t want to risk not getting enough sleep.

4.       Cleansing of the Skin

Cleansing of the skin helps to remove dirt, oils and bacteria that accumulate over time on your skin, and this will prevent the skin from superficial infections. The face requires more care than the rest of the body. The face should be washed when you wake up in the morning with a mild soap and before going to bed at night and even more thoroughly when you have   makeup and grime on the face. Most importantly, go for skin products that are water-based, but avoid skin products that have drying ingredients such as alcohol.

5.       Using a Moisturizer Lotion and Sunscreen

The last but not the least, is use a moisturizing lotion daily after very facial and body cleansing. Proper moisturization will prevent your skin from being dry and flaky. Also, moisturizing the skin will prevent fine lines and wrinkles on your skin and this will increase the performance of the cells of your skin.

Likewise, our skin needs sunscreen daily especially if it is being exposed to the sun regularly.  Excessive exposure to sun rays will damage the skin which can lead to the formation of harmful free radicals, aging of the skin and dehydration of the skin. The work of sunscreen is to provide protection against the sun’s harmful rays. Moreover, protective clothing should be worn and if possible, limit the exposure to the sun. Note that all skin types (oily, acne-prone, dry, or mature) need moisturizing lotion and sunscreen. Fortunately, some moisturizing lotion contain sunscreen in it.
